Iran Crosses Qatar In Terms Of Gas Exploitation

Hassan Rouhani, the President of Iran, has inaugurated the phases 13 and 22 to 24 of the South Pars Gas Field.

This ceremony took place in Bushehr which is a province in southern Iran. As for the gas field, it is located in the Persian Gulf.

Mohammad Meshkinfam, the Managing Director of Pars Oil and Gas Company, addressed the company saying that the gas extracted from that field has increased to around 660mcm/d now. The production was limited to approximately 280mcm/d in 2013. This improvement has been made possible because of the new phases being launched.

Bijan Zangeneh, the Minister of Petroleum of Iran, has stated that the gas exploitation will reach the 750mcm/d mark by the end of the 1st half of the following Iranian calendar year due to the running projects being completed.
It is believed that the overall gas production of Iran will become 880mcm/d by the end of the coming year.
